"Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been." Mark Twain

It truly is the little things in life that make it all worthwhile. I have a smile that's been glued to my face for over two hours. Why? I'll tell you...

At around half past 3 when I was having a 10 minute coffee at work, I decided to log on to my iPad to check emails and whatnot. Thinking about dinner this evening, I messaged a friend to ask if they thought the idea of sweet and sour chicken was appealing:being as organised as I am, I have far too much chicken for one person to consume and I'm pretty sure it's meant to be off the day after tomorrow. As I was sipping away at my cappuccino and chatting to my colleagues, the wonderful bright afternoon darkened into looming clouds and the rain began pelting on the roof, making quite a considerable amount of noise in the staffroom. When I woke up this morning, my bedroom was sitting at 30 degrees celsius; time and time again I have to remind myself this isn't the Mediterranean summer and the British weather is as reliable as Cypriot time-keeping. After deciding on dinner, I remarked on the rain. The reply:

"Got a brolly?"

"No :("

"What time do you finish? I'll walk down with one."

By 5pm the rain had cleared off again. It didn't matter. One kind gesture can make your day, as it has mine :)
